About The Department




The Department of Chemistry was established in 2010. It is, since then engaged in providing high level and quality of academic education. The main focus of the teaching and research in the department is centred on interdisciplinary themes which have gained worldwide attention and appreciation. The department has qualified and experienced faculty members for teaching and guiding students. The department offers four programmes leading to the award of B.Sc., M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees.
   Over the years, our research journey and interests have grown to encompass several interdisciplinary fields such as coordination chemistry, bioinorganic chemistry, natural product chemistry, designed materials, catalysis and medicinal chemistry.

Chemistry is a very collaborative programme, and as a student of the department, you will learn to think critically with other scientists from all fields. You will create new develop new models and understand the theory behind doing so. Dr. Sourobhi Datta

Faculty Profile

Prof.(Dr.) Sourobhi Datta has earned her M.Sc and Ph.D Chemistry from GGU Central University, Bilashpur, Chattisgarh. She has seven years of teaching experience in various reputed Colleges of UPTU. She has published four research papers in national journal. Her areas of interest are: Phytochemistry (Fat and protein analysis).


Dr. Sourobhi Datta
(Professor & HoD)

Prof. (Dr.) Nikhil Kumar Kaushik has done his M.Sc. Chemistry from CCS University Meerut UP and PhD from Gurukul Kangari University, Haridwar. He has five years of teaching experience. He has published 18 research papers in national conference proceeding and 04 research papers in international journals. He is life member of Indian Science Congress Association India (L-23430) and executive member of Society of Environmental Education of Mass Awareness, Haridwar. His areas of interest are: Natural products, Phytochemistry and Synthesis chemistry.

Dr. Nikhil Kumar Kaushik
(Professor)

Dr. Richa Yadav has done her M.Tech. (Ad. Chemical Analysis) from IIT Roorkee and Ph.D. Chemistry from CCS University, Meerut UP. She has two years of teaching experience in Monad University. She has published two research papers in international journal. Her areas of interest are: Spectroscopy, Co-ordination and Quantum chemistry.
