Department of Philosophy

About The Department

“Wise men speak because they have something to say; fools because they have to say something.”-   Plato

The Department of Philosophy aims to enable students in all disciplines with the development of vital, interpretive, logical and expansive skills necessary to personal intellectual and moral development, cultural literacy and achievement in the complexities of life.
The department was established since the inception of the University. Philosophy itself combines the best of realism, materialism and idealism, where the former is always kept under the critical eye and inspiration of idealism. If people lack higher ideals in their daily lives, this does not prove that such ideals are figments of the imagination. The subject focuses on what a human being is, what is purposeful and meaningful for him.
Our faculty are exemplary teacher-scholars, who are active in research and bring their scholarly expertise into the classroom.
